Employees are encouraged to find authentic connection and community with others by joining an employee resource group. Membership is open to all Nebraska Medicine and UNMC staff and students.

The African American and Black Alliance is focused on creating a more inclusive environment.

ADPTAll Abilities and Disabilities Partnering Together (ADAPT)

The All Disabilities and Abilities Partnering Together group is focused on celebrating our different abilities to create an equitable, inclusive, and safe work environment. The aim is for colleagues and students to feel empowered to own their disability status and show up as their most authentic selves.

 

 


AAPIAsian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI)

The Asian American and Pacific Islander group focuses on supporting, celebrating and amplifying the voices of this community as vital members of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC.

 

 


EPPEmerging Professionals Program

The Emerging Professionals Program serves UNMC and Nebraska Medicine by providing a platform that empowers emerging professionals to connect, engage, and grow through our shared organizational values.

EPP members volunteer through United Way of the Midlands to assemble more than 5,000 Shine Bright hygiene kits for students.

LGPTQIA+LGBTQIA+ Employee Alliance

The LGBTQ+ Employee Alliance is a group of colleagues who come together to support and promote inclusion. Whether it’s through our presence in New Colleague Orientation, the group’s social activities, or the distribution of pronoun buttons for colleagues, the work of this group helps colleagues throughout UNMC and Nebraska Medicine feel comfortable knowing they can bring their authentic selves to work each day.

NursingWise is a group focused on creating opportunities for retired nurses to return to Nebraska Medicine and engage with the nursing workforce.

The RISE Women group provides the opportunity to support women and have a space to support each other and authentically grow and improve together. We want to encourage women to support women, women growing as professionals, women as leaders, and inspire women in health care.

VMACVeterans and Military Affiliated Colleagues (VMA)

The VMA group is focused on creating a community within Nebraska Medicine and UNMC for our members to continue serving our communities. Additionally, we target events centered around Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day to acknowledge the sacrifices of our military members and their families. The ERG also works to connect our members to resources, services, events, and opportunities within the communities our organizations serve.
