Breastfeeding and Lactation Counseling at the Olson Center for Women's Health

The Nebraska Medicine lactation team is available by appointment at the Olson Center for Women's Health. In this one on one setting, a lactation consultant can assist you with a full range of scenarios including, but not limited to:

  • Back-to-work issues
  • Sore nipples/breasts
  • Oversupply issues
  • Low milk supply
  • Latch-on difficulty/breast refusal
  • Infant oral assessment
  • Feeding pattern assessment
  • Slow weight gain
  • Premature infants
  • Twins/other multiples
  • Moms with a history of breast surgery
  • Pumping questions
  • Breastfeeding/Lactation Support Group

Breast Pumps

Our Lactation Team is able to work with a variety of insurance plans to cover a Medela Pump in Style Advance Pump for women 36+ weeks in pregnancy or after birth and providing pump teaching. During your stay we offer to dispense pumps to patients room with one-on-one teaching to get you started. For questions, please call 402.552.3487.
