Whether you are newly diagnosed with HIV or transferring your care, you will find a team ready to welcome and support you. You are not alone. With the right care and support, you can live a long and healthy life with HIV.

Your privacy matters. We take every step to protect the confidentiality of your diagnosis, treatment and communication.

Getting Started

If you were recently diagnosed or received care elsewhere, your first appointment is usually scheduled within one month of contacting us. You can review our doctor’s bios and talk with our staff to find the care team that best fits your needs.

Intake Visit

Your first appointment is with a Medical Case Manager, part of our Client Services Team. During this visit you will:

  • Complete an intake that includes your medical and social history.
  • Review your eligibility for support through the Ryan White Program.

Please bring:

  • Proof of household income.
  • Proof of current address (such as a piece of mail or ID with your address).
  • Any medical records from your previous provider.

First Medical Visit

Your first medical visit will last about 90 minutes and includes:

  • A meeting with your HIV care provider and a member of our Client Services Team.
  • Time to meet additional team members, such as a pharmacist or nurse.

Your care team will:

  • Review your HIV diagnosis and discuss treatment options.
  • Answer questions about medications, partner disclosure and prevention.
  • Begin working with you to start HIV treatment.

A member of our clinical team will draw blood for lab tests that help guide your treatment plan and support your long-term health.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID.
  • Insurance card (if you have one).
  • Medication list or bottles.
  • Medical records from other providers.
  • Proof of income and address (if applying for Ryan White services).

Follow-Up Appointments

Your first follow-up is typically 4 to 6 weeks after your initial appointment. During this visit, you’ll meet with a clinical pharmacist to review:

  • Lab results.
  • Medication effectiveness and side effects.
  • Any questions or concerns.

After that, you will usually see your care team every 3 to 6 months, depending on your care plan.

Preparing for Your First Visit
