Are you struggling with diarrhea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain or weight loss? It could be inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and you’re not alone.

IBD is a group of intestinal disorders that cause chronic inflammation in the digestive tract. Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease are both examples of IBD. Conditions like these affect millions worldwide. Many people don’t realize there’s help available, so they suffer through frequent flare-ups. But help IS available here.

The experts at the Nebraska Medicine Frederick F. Paustian Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center specialize in treating these conditions. They understand how disruptive these conditions can be, and know how to determine the source and treat the symptoms.

What to expect during your first visit

During your first visit, you’ll meet with a health care provider who specializes in treating IBD.

They’ll carefully note your personal history, the symptoms you’re experiencing and ask some questions about your quality of life. They use this information and any other medical records you provide to create a personalized treatment plan just for you.

Why you should choose Nebraska Medicine

We designed the Paustian Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center to be as convenient as possible for our patients. In our office at Nebraska Medical Center, you can connect with a physician, nurse coordinator, surgeon, dietitian, psychologist and clinical pharmacist, all in one place.

These experts all work closely together to ensure you receive the best care possible. We even have an onsite pharmacist to assist you with filling medications, getting insurance authorizations and setting up payment assistance plans if needed.

Our center is the only IBD center in Nebraska to partner with the Nebraska Food for Health Center. The Nebraska Food for Health Center works to improve health by linking agriculture and food production practices to wellness and disease prevention through microbiome research.
