Why choose Nebraska Medicine?

Our Nebraska Medicine team of experts provides the most comprehensive care, from low- to high-risk patients.

  • Family Medicine doctors can treat the entire family, from pregnancy to old age, and are located throughout the Omaha Metro area for convenient check-ups
  • Our Nurse Midwives are experts at low tech, high touch family-centered birth experiences. Our Olson Center nurse midwives collaborate with our OB-GYNs.
  • And our OB-GYNs are true specialists. They can care for all types of pregnancies, from low risk to high risk.

If you have a history of high-risk pregnancies or symptoms, we have Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists (high-risk obstetricians) and specialty teams to ensure you receive the care you and your baby need.

Our state-of-the-art Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is designed to embrace a family-centered environment tailored to support the developmental needs of premature infants. With a low cesarean section birth rate, we’ve achieved a high success rate of natural labor after cesarean.

Neonatologists, neonatal nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists and other health care providers with specialized training are present to attend to any infant needs at the time of delivery. We meet every woman at admission to provide information and answer questions about pain relief options. Anesthesiologists who specialize in the care of pregnant women are also part of our team and are present at all hours – day and night – ready to provide pain relief for women in labor or having a C-section.

Our staff of highly trained nurses, surgical technologists, patient care technicians and international board-certified lactation consultants are on hand to help provide the best care possible.

Modern and fully equipped labor suites provide space and privacy for families, and among many other benefits, we offer rooming in with your baby and 24-hour room services. To help you feel confident in your transition home, we provide personalized post-delivery care and education.

Ongoing research and evidence-based practices are an important part of continued improvement. We use these practices to guide our standards, protocols and care.
