Repairing a chronic total occlusion - Rich's story

Patient Rich Stanko walking on treadmill in Nebraska Medicine clinic

Being active was a way of life for Rich Stanko for as long as he could remember. However, when he noticed he was struggling to walk across a parking lot, he knew something was terribly wrong and was referred to Edward O'Leary, MD.

After diagnostic tests, he learned that he had a chronic total occlusion. After a successful surgery and rehab, the Army veteran is back to his active self.
