Weight Loss Surgery

The Bariatrics Center offers several options for patients who qualify for weight-loss surgery. While gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy are the most common, we will work with you to determine which procedure will most likely give you the best results.

Gastric Bypass

The Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass is considered the gold standard for weight-loss surgery. Studies have shown an excess weight loss of 60 to 80 percent. This means that if you are 100 pounds overweight, we would anticipate you losing 60-80 pounds after weight loss surgery. Most patients will maintain a 50 percent excess weight loss when they are 10 years out from surgery.
