For Release:

Nebraska Medicine has been honored in Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The award list was announced on June 3, 2026, and can be viewed on the Newsweek website.

The America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026 ranking awards the best hospitals in the U.S across seven specialties: Cancer care, cardiac care, neurological care, orthopedic care, endocrine care, pulmonary care, and gastrointestinal care. The underlying data analysis is based on four data sources:

  • Hospital quality metrics: Quality data, with a focus on indicators relevant to the respective medical specialties, as well as various accreditations and certifications, were considered.
  • Nationwide online survey: Tens of thousands of medical experts (doctors, hospitals managers, and health care professionals) were invited to an online survey in cooperation with Newsweek. Participants were asked to recommend hospitals based on their expertise in one primary medical field.
  • Results from patient experience surveys: Publicly available data from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) were used to analyze patient experience.
  • Statista PROMs Implementation Survey: Newsweek and Statista conduct an annual PROMs Implementation Survey to account for the increasing importance of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

Based on the study results, Nebraska Medical Center is honored to be recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026. Nebraska Medical Center ranked in the following areas: Cancer care, cardiac care, neurological care, endocrine care, pulmonary care, and gastrointestinal care.
