Can I join video or telehealth visits through the app?

Yes, you can join a video or telehealth visit right from the Nebraska Medicine app.

To join a scheduled video visit:

  1. Select Begin visit from your home dashboard. If you don’t see this, select Visits at the top of your screen, find your appointment and then select Join video visit.
    • If you do not see the button, it is too early to start the visit. You can log in to your visit 10 minutes before your appointment time to let the rooming process start.
  2. Please note: You may be asked to complete the eCheck-In before joining a video visit. Select Start eCheck-In from the notice at the top of the Appointments screen. Follow the prompts before joining your video visit.
  3. Wait for your provider to join.
  4. You may be asked to allow access to your camera and microphone. Please select Continue, then Allow.
  5. You can preview the video, update your display name and test your hardware if needed before joining the call.

We also offer video visits for immediate care. Our doctors are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and holidays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

How to start an Immediate Care Video Visit:

  1. Sign in to the Nebraska Medicine app.
  2. Tap Find Care at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Select Immediate Care Options.
  4. Choose Immediate Care Video Visit.
  5. Read through the visit instructions, then tap Start a Video Visit.
  6. Tap See Next Available Provider and wait briefly in the virtual queue.

Before your visit:

  • Make sure you have a strong internet connection.
  • Sit in a quiet, well-lit space where your provider can see and hear you clearly.

Immediate Care Video Visits are great for minor issues, such as:

  • Cold or flu symptoms.
  • Mild rashes or skin irritations.
  • Seasonal allergies or other minor concerns.

For serious symptoms like chest pain, difficulty breathing or anything that feels life-threatening, do not use the app. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
