Brake for Breakfast is a free drive-thru cancer screening and prevention event led by the Nebraska Medicine | Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, in partnership with UNL Extension and community partners across the state.
Originally launched as a local event, Brake for Breakfast has expanded into a statewide initiative, bringing cancer screening education to Nebraskans — especially those in rural and underserved areas.
What to expect
At Brake for Breakfast events, participants can:
- Enjoy a free breakfast and complimentary giveaways.
- Learn about cancer prevention, screening recommendations and available resources.
Events are quick, convenient and accessible. Stop by during the morning events from 7 to 9 a.m., while supplies last.
Drive through one of the following locations across Nebraska:
- Omaha: Omaha Home for Boys, 4343 N 52nd St.
- Kearney: Nebraska Medicine | Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, 2232 Chancellors Ave.
- Grand Island: Morrison Cancer Center, 3563 Prairieview Street.
- Valentine: Cherry County Hospital, 510 N Green St.
- Ord: Valley County Health System Conference Center, 2605 L Street.
- Norfolk: Prime Stop South, 1201 Prime Stop Way.
- Scottsbluff: Panhandle Public Health Department, 18 W 16th Street.
- McCook: McCook Christian Church, 507 W B St.
- Beatrice: Indian Creek Mall, 2205 North 6th St.
- North Platte: Pizza Ranch, 201 E 6th St.
