Why make Nebraska Medicine your destination for eye care?
Top Ranked Facilities
U.S News & World Report has named Nebraska Medicine the #1 hospital in the state for several years in a row. Our state-of-the-art facilities designed to transform ophthalmology and LASIK surgery in Nebraska for generations to come.
Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Specialists
We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disease and conditions. Few eye care centers have as many sub-specialists under one roof. Experienced general and subspecialty ophthalmologists are on staff, specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of eye diseases. Our optometrists provide basic eye care, prescribing contact lenses and glasses and screening for the development of more serious eye conditions.
Care for the Common to the Complex
We care about your eye health and focus on every aspect of eye care, from common eye problems such as cataracts, glaucoma, eye infections and pink eye to more complex vision challenge. We have the team, training and technology to help you with all your eye care needs.
Outpatient Eye Care
We have separate clinic areas for specialty care, including general ophthalmology and cornea, glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, and neuro-ophthalmology. Patient-care areas are closely integrated with the clinical research and diagnostic center to support research studies and also provide state-of-the-art patient care.
A Dedicated Center of Excellent for Clinical Research
The Carl Camras Center for Innovative Clinical Trials in Ophthalmology enables the department to bring scientific breakthroughs to patients in clinical studies. The research team has expertise in conducting clinical trials that lead to novel therapies for a variety of eye diseases. New therapies developed by the research scientists in the Truhlsen Eye Research Laboratories and UNMC’s Durham Research Center will be made available to patients in clinical trials.
Children’s Eye Care Center
Our center for children’s eye care provides a subspecialty referral center for pediatric eye care in our region and provides capacity for clinical research on pediatric eye diseases. It will also provide care for patients with strabismus and ocular misalignments.
Regional Diagnostic Center
This center features state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment not available anywhere else, including high resolution optical coherence tomography, adaptive optics, microperimetry, and wide field imaging and angiography used for patient care and research.
