Why I Enjoy Being a Colorectal Surgeon

I love the variety of my practice. I get to take care of a wide range of patients and conditions of varying complexity: young and older patients, benign and malignant disease, complex abdominopelvic and anorectal procedures and colonoscopy. I like that I get to work closely and collaborate with physicians from other specialties, both in and out of the OR. I enjoy performing minimally invasive approaches to treat cancers and IBD, reoperative pelvic surgery and common anorectal procedures for hemorrhoids, fistulae and prolapse.
