Why I Enjoy Being a Colorectal Surgeon

I love the variety of my practice. I get to take care of a wide range of patients and conditions of varying complexity: young and older patients, benign and malignant disease, complex abdominopelvic and anorectal procedures and colonoscopy. I like that I get to work closely and collaborate with physicians from other specialties, both in and out of the OR. I enjoy performing minimally invasive approaches to treat cancers and IBD, reoperative pelvic surgery and common anorectal procedures for hemorrhoids, fistulae and prolapse.

I felt a little rushed, I was very emotional and in excruciating pain and I was just told to try a cream for a week and if it's not better ( so another week of Potential pain ) she would do a further exam. I am in SO much pain.,

Always good

Provider did not address my concern to get to the root cause of the issue (diet/nutrition) nor did she inquire about other underlying ongoing symptoms (stomach bloating/gas/cramping) that were discussed at length with the student/assistant who did intake evaluation.

Dr. Leinicke is always very nice and professional. She has a student following her for training, he was a male. And she asked if it would be okay to be observed during the exam. I sort of said well I don't really want a guy in there and then I apologized. She said that this is your visit and whatever made me uncomfortable that nothing else matters only that I am comfortable. So he would not be watching. Very nice of her.

Dr L was very professional, but yet using terms I understood and was very concerned about what was best for me. She is fantastic.
