Your first appointment is focused on understanding your symptoms and medical history. Procedures are not typically performed during the first visit. Instead, your provider will complete a detailed evaluation and discuss possible next steps.
You may see a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant during your care. Imaging tests such as an MRI or CT scan may be ordered to better understand the cause of your pain before deciding on treatment options.
Once imaging is reviewed, your care team will discuss a personalized treatment plan with you, including the risks and benefits of recommended procedures.
If a procedure is recommended, your team will also review medications that may need to be paused before treatment and provide detailed preparation instructions.
