Nebraska Medicine has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “100 hospitals and health systems with great heart programs,” recognizing health organizations that are setting the standard for cardiovascular care through exceptional outcomes, life-saving technology, and groundbreaking research.

Nebraska Medicine was highlighted for performing several first-in-state heart procedures, offering 25 active clinical trials, and providing patients with access to the state’s only adult heart transplant program, which has performed more than 600 transplants. In addition, the heart team was recently recognized by the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association as a center of excellence and the heart failure program received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines—Heart Failure Gold Plus Performance Award.” Nebraska Medicine is the only health system in the state to make the list.

“This honor by Becker’s shows our team’s commitment to finding the best solution for every patient’s unique needs,” says Shane Tsai, MD, chief of cardiovascular medicine. “From minimally invasive procedures that offer better quality of life to finding new ways to treat high blood pressure, our goal is to make hearts healthier while advancing technology for future generations.”

“The Heart and Vascular team at Nebraska Medicine brings together exceptional expertise, cutting-edge treatments, and compassionate care for patients with the most challenging cardiovascular conditions,” says Michael Moulton, MD, chief of cardiothoracic surgery. “Our team is among the very best, and this recognition reflects their unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding care to every patient, every day.”

The Becker’s editorial team selected programs based on recent recognitions and achievements, with sources including U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek, Healthgrades, and others. Becker’s also accepts nominations for the list.
