She was very good at explaining why I should be taking medication. First time anyone had explained why I was taking the medication and how long I should take it.

Let me take my time finding questions I wanted to ask vs. marking off questions she answered. Repeatedly gave opportunities to ask more questions as we went along. Impressed with how she would give full details as she recognized we were misunderstanding information at times. Full disclosure for life altering decisions is highly valued, thanks!

The care provider is good, it's the environment that's not "warming". I'm used to going in to my oncologist office in Alaska and they have snacks and drinks in the fridge for you to help yourself. People donate stuff they give away (Mary Kay consultant gives gift bags once a year, nursing home donates puzzles, they have wigs definitely have support of the community). UNMC doesn't even have cookies, coffee or water in the waiting area

I had many concerns and questions about the recent radiology results and treatment of findings that were not explained at the time nor was there an adequate explanation of what was next, at that time or in the follow-up letter. I phoned to speak with my Dr. But she was out of office for awhile. I waited for 2 months till my appointment to get the answers which were very instrumental in staying with this Cancer team.
