Detailed Class Descriptions and Registration

Childbirth Education Classes

This class is designed to prepare new mothers and their support person for the birth process. Evening and Saturday sessions are available. If your insurer is going to pay for the class, you must also call to reserve your spot over the phone. A variety of topics are covered in this hands-on class, including:

  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Massage and visualization
  • Epidural
  • Pain management
  • Use of forceps
  • Importance of bonding with baby
  • Newborn care
  • Feeding the baby
  • Colic and infants
  • Infant stimulation
  • Breastfeeding

You'll also receive a tour of our Omaha or Bellevue facility, if you're having your baby in one of those locations. We recommend this class for everyone, but specifically those planning on a natural birth, or one with few medical interventions.

We recommend you take these classes when you are at least 32 weeks pregnant. Feel free to register for the class date you would like before that time.

You will also need to pay for the $65 class by credit card online or over the phone. The fee covers both the mother and labor support person. A $15 military discount is also available. The class must be paid for by the first day of class before the session starts. Call us if you think your insurance covers your class, and we can get you the paperwork you'll need.

Breastfeeding Support Classes

These sessions are prerecorded for viewing at your convenience. Feel free to simply sign up for any "class," and you'll receive an email with all the relevant links to videos and documents attached. Once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we will return to in-person classes.

While breastfeeding is natural and normal, mothers may need support and help to achieve their breastfeeding goals. We recommend taking this class at least four to six weeks before the baby is due.

You will also need to pay for the $15 class by credit card online or over the phone. The fee covers both the mother and labor support person. A $15 military discount is also available, making the class free. The class must be paid for by the first day of class before the session starts. Call us if you would like to register for the breastfeeding class that is offered free when enrolled in the childbirth education class or think your insurance covers your class, and we can get you the paperwork you'll need.
