Not everyone has to meet the work requirement.
You may qualify for an exemption if you:
- Are pregnant or have had a baby within the past 12 months.
- Have a disability.
- Are medically fragile.
- Care for a child under age 13.
- Care for someone with a disability.
- Are a member of a recognized Native American tribe.
- Are in a drug or alcohol treatment program.
- Have been incarcerated within the last 90 days.
- Have aged out of foster care and are under age 26.
Other exemptions may apply. DHHS determines eligibility.
