CornerStone Gifts, Clarkson Gift Shop, and Company Store (NMC)

• Assist customers as they shop for gifts, flowers, candy, and other merchandise at the gift shops. Proceeds from the shops are donated to support special projects at the medical center. Gift shops (weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Company Store (weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Equipment Transporter 

• Transport reusable equipment to Clarkson Tower sterile processing from bed floors throughout the Nebraska Medicine 42nd Street campus.   (Weekdays and weekends, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Resource and Wellness Center (NMC)

• Welcome guests to the Patient Resource and Wellness Center in the Nebraska Medicine | Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, explain the services, visit with guests, and support the area by doing assigned department assistant duties. (Weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Volunteer Services admin support and patient mail (NMC and BMC)

• Support by doing various clerical tasks, stock supplies, and errands. Brighten patients’ day by delivering their mail. (Weekdays, afternoons) 

Clinic/dept assistant (NMC and Village Pointe Health Center – coming soon)

• Assist patients and families in the clinic, escort guests, stock supplies, clean rooms, and provide administrative support to staff. (Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) 

Emergency Department (NMC and BMC)

• Support families and staff by performing a variety of essential non-clinical duties such as stocking supplies, turning over rooms, running errands, and providing administrative support.  Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer. (NMC - weekdays and weekends, 24 hours – 2-hour shifts starting on even hours ** Bellevue – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

Ambassadors (NMC, BMC and Village Pointe Health Center – coming soon)

• Welcome guests at the main entrances of the campuses and help them navigate through the facility. (BMC & VP 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Weekdays ** NMC 7a.m. – 6 p.m. and Weekends 8a.m. – 4p.m.)

Radiology Ambassadors (NMC)

• Improve the patient’s experience by escorting patients throughout the radiology areas, other appointments, and entrances. (Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Surgery ambassadors (NMC, BMC)

• Be a welcoming presence to guests in the surgical areas and help them navigate through the facility. (Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Discharge lounge (NMC) 

• Volunteers will help transport discharge patients from various bed floors to the lounge, socialize with the patients and complete assigned non-clinical tasks. (Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Hospitality cart (NMC Buffett and BMC)

• Enhance the comfort of adult patients and their guests by sharing items from the hospitality cart – crossword puzzles, word search, magazines, playing cards, etc. (Weekdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Infusion center (NMC)

• Support patients and their families as they attend clinic visits and infusion treatments.  Perform hospitality and department assistant tasks. (Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekends 9 a.m. to 3p.m.)

Inpatient unit and patient support (NMC)

• Support the patients and staff by doing non clinical tasks. Visit with patients, explaining the patient guides, educational tablets, how to order their meals, and other services to improve patient experience. Stock supplies, straighten rooms, perform administrative tasks, and run errands for staff. (Weekdays and weekends, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
