- Look forward to daily hands-on challenges that provide opportunities to employ your critical thinking skills?
- Enjoy caring for a variety of patients and act as a resource/advocate for those patients?
- Appreciate working on different units and departments on a regular basis, to continually broaden your experiences?
If so, joining the nursing float pool might be the ideal opportunity for you.
We’re looking to recruit an elite team of nurses for our float pool who can fill in for nurses throughout the Nebraska Medical Center campus.
"Being a float pool nurse means you are a friendly, positive, knowledgeable, experienced nurse who works as a team member on the unit you are assigned to for that shift. It is rewarding to be able to be a resource for others as well as hopefully lighten the load for those you are working with,"
"You are able to build relationships with many colleagues throughout the organization and care for a variety of patients. No shift is the same and you look forward to the challenges that may come your way," said Brandon, who has spent the past two years as a nurse with the float pool.
Patient Care Technicians
If you’re not a nurse but have a high school diploma or even hold a nursing assistant certification and would like to see if a health care career might be for you, we are also hiring patient care technicians, commonly called CNAs, certified nursing assistants.
You’d get to do a variety of tasks, like vitals, assist in bathing patients, dress and feed patients.
Thanks to Nebraska Medicine recently increasing our pay scale for this role, we now rank among the top health care facilities in the Omaha area.
You’d work in an environment where you’d be exposed to a wide variety of patients and units, and the potential to grow and learn is limitless.
