About Me

My practice consists of treating active patients with hip, knee, shoulder and elbow problems. I enjoyed treating patients of all ages including younger patients with sports related injuries or the older weekend warrior. In addition, I see patients for shoulder arthritis and perform shoulder arthroplasty.

For every visit that I have had w/Dr. Amendola, he has taken the time to answer every question & to explain x-ray & MRI findings. Offered to prove a referral for other areas of concern that I have w/my lower arm.

    I would highly recommend

Assistant Curt did an excellent job in understanding our issues while being supportive, he acted professionally and bridged any communication gaps. Dr A was top notch and wonderful. He greatly focused on our issues while listening to our concerns and challenges to his proposed treatment options. Dr A allowed and encouraged us to be part of the treatment plan. Watching his eyes, focus on us while we spoke, showed his dedication to our issues, he never looked away.Should be noted that this was a dual shoulder appointment for both me and my wife.

Dr. Amendola is very caring and kind. He is straight forward, honest, and patient with questions. Would highly recommend him.

  • Feb 25, 2026

Dr. asked all the relevant questions conducted in an extensive assessment and gave me good news about how quickly I was progressing

  • Feb 07, 2026

Dr Amendola and his staff went above and beyond my personal expectations to make me comfortable and to explain things to me and made sure I actually understood what they wanted to do and needed to do

  • Feb 02, 2026

I felt very "dismissed" by the care provider, that my concerns about being able to continue my desired physical activities were not important. Their attitude seemed against to me.

  • Jan 06, 2026

He told me I couldn't have a brace big enough because my size. He said & the place to custom would be to expensive & prob. wouldn't fit so a waste of time.

  • Jan 05, 2026

This was my 2nd visit with Dr. Amendola for my shoulder. He reviewed my options for treatment, in clear and supportive terms.

I've had 18 surgeries in my life. Been in and out of hospitals all my life. Met hundreds of doctors. I've never met a doctor as bad as Amendola. He was dressed like he was about to play golf. Was very arrogant from the second he walked in; he seemed annoyed to even be in the room. I've never had knee pain in my life; it has been causing me daily pain and limping. His advice was and I quote "take a Tylenol and baby it. Tough it out. You're 22 and healthy" I was baffled. I waited maybe 25-30 min just for him to spend 5 minutes with me and walk out.

I left feeling like I had minimal resolve. Most of my time spent there was checking in and doing X-rays but super quick with doctor. He was ok. Needs to work on his people skills. His nurses were all very friendly.

    Very pleased with the Dr

  • May 25, 2025

Doctor had options, no questions were answered! We drove 2 hrs to see a doctor I thought I scheduled with to another doctor, who I didn't scheduled with. It's has a lot of ifs and maybe! Doctor was unclear about decisions for surgery, reconstruction etc. I feel defeated for my son

  • May 25, 2025

He literally spent two minutes with me when I discussed my concerns he told me not to worry about them right now. I felt totally unheard and ignored.

  • May 09, 2025

The assistant and nurse were fine. The doctor acted like he had a chip on his shoulder when I told them I wasn't going to do surgery. In my opinion he also treated me as if I was wasting his time. At one point he asked me are you expecting me to tell you what to do. And I said yes you're the doctor. I was very pissed off by that comment. He treated me as if I was somebody there for drugs or if I was somebody beneath him since I didn't want surgery. I will never recommend that doctor. He insinuated that I needed to lose weight that was what my problem was. I was told that the previous doctor I had a torn meniscus and that I could do injection therapy. He said well that's $850 I don't think you want to pay that. I had to ask him well is there anything else you can do?? And then he said something about a gel shot. Why was he asking me questions on what he can do for me?? Why was he asking what I expected him to do for me?? Honestly, the visit was kind of humiliating!

  • May 01, 2025

He was dismissive of my problems and offered no real solutions. He told me I was too old to have my knee fixed and to get a steroid shot whenever I had something big coming up but there was nothing else to do. Offered no advice on day to day living with a torn meniscus and was in a hurry to leave the room.

    Informative, friendly, concerning

  • Mar 04, 2025

Dr. Amendola clearly found the source of my pain. Grateful!

  • Feb 26, 2025

I was glad to have a hint of positive news at this appointment. I realize that isn't under the control of the physician, but I could tell he was glad to be able to give me the promising news. I am glad that the doctor seems open to listening to me.

  • Dec 09, 2024

Dr, Amendola did a total reverse shoulder on my right shoulder in January 2024 and on my left shoulder in August. He has always been polite and professional. He listened to my concerns and explained the procedure where I could understand exactly what was going to happen.

  • Nov 23, 2024

I have no problem with the doctor. He was very kind about his time being wasted.

  • Nov 18, 2024

This particular appointment went very well. I was very glad the doctor was looking at the two of us being a team in my healthcare, that I want all available options to be "put on the table" for consideration by both of us. The doctor listened and seemed open to discussing future options if my leg continues to not heal as it should. I think he now understands my commitment to doing anything within reason to resume a normal life.
