Pam's Heart Attack - Nebraska Medicine
After a massive heart attack, Pam Dowell is now volunteering at Nebraska Medicine – Bellevue in gratitude for saving and helping re-build her life. “Why not me?” Pam said. Years of unhealthy behaviors caught up with her in May 2015, when she suffered a heart attack and coded five times. She was brought to Nebraska Medicine - Bellevue where cardiologist John Cimino, MD, and the staff saved her life. More than a year later, Pam has embraced the lifestyle changes she learned in our cardiac rehabilitation program and buzzes around the hospital as a volunteer. She brings visitors and patients treats and the hope that they too, can get better and walk with purpose.
