Wound Ostomy Services

Wound Ostomy Services department is a consultative service that provides acute and rehabilitative nursing care to patients with disorders or injuries of the integumentary system, genitourinary system and the gastrointestinal system, to include but not limited to; intertrigo, pressure ulcers, incontinence dermatitis, surgical wounds, non-emergent traumatic wounds, fistulas, drains and negative pressure wound therapy. These disorders range in severity from minor to very complex.
Wound Ostomy Services presents practitioners with evidence-based research and education to create a knowledgeable environment to provide optimal skin care. The wound staff takes a very active role in promoting wellness and educating others health-care professionals through participation in annual conferences, speaking nationally and internationally and participating in research.
