Our pelvic health rehabilitation therapists specialize in providing therapy for a variety of conditions. As movement and function experts, we provide individuals of all gender identities with the necessary treatment to reestablish function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. It is common for human beings to experience pelvic floor dysfunction involving changes in strength, flexibility, muscle tone (support), and sensation that can lead to a wide array of different symptoms.

Our specialists have advanced training and they strive to provide each patient with individualized care in a trusting, safe and respectful environment. Our goal is to work together with each individual to address their unique concerns and needs.

Common symptoms that we address in our clinic include but are not limited to the following:

Our pelvic health rehabilitation therapists utilize a wide variety of treatments, education and muscle re-training, often reducing or eliminating the need for surgery or medication. Sometimes surgery and medication is necessary and your pelvic health rehabilitation therapist will collaborate with your medical provider to optimize your outcomes and quality of life. Biofeedback, Kegel exercises, pelvic floor relaxation exercises, dry needling, breathing exercises, soft tissue mobilization, strengthening and ergonomic education, and pain management techniques are just a few of the treatments utilized to help relieve symptoms.

What to expect on your first visit

Plan for your first visit to last around 60 minutes. During the first half, your pelvic health rehabilitation therapist will:

  • Review your medical history to get a complete health picture
  • Discuss current symptoms and how they are impacting you and your life
  • Talk through your goals for therapy

In the second half of the visit, your pelvic health rehabilitation therapist will:

  • Complete a thorough evaluation of your posture, strength, flexibility and motor coordination
  • Thoroughly explain your pelvic floor examination options using a 3D pelvic model
  • Perform a pelvic floor examination

Helping you feel comfortable and safe is our number one goal. It is your choice to participate in this part of the evaluation process. While an internal pelvic examination provides us comprehensive information to guide your care, we can provide alternative options to respect your unique individual needs.
