Pain Management Program
Lodging
Patients living outside the Omaha area can either stay with family or friends in town or make arrangements through the Pain Management Program secretarial staff
to have a room provided for them on The Nebraska Medical Center’s campus. Rooms are provided on an “as needed” basis and are chosen upon their availability.
The Potter’s House is the primary location for our patient rooms; however, if there is not a room available at the Potter’s House, accommodation will be made for
you to stay at the Nebraska House until a room becomes available at the Potter’s House. If you wish to stay in other facilities, you may do so at your own expense.
About the Potter’s House
The Potter’s House is located at 38th and Dewey Avenue. The Potter’s House provides living arrangements similar to a bed and breakfast. There is a shuttle service available between the Potter’s House and the Pain Management Program.
About the Nebraska House
The Nebraska House is adjacent to the Lied Transplant Center and is less than a five-minute walk from the Pain Management Program. It is located on the fourth floor of the Specialty Services Pavilion (SSP building); also known as the “Nebraska House” – where the Diabetes center is located. The Nebraska House rooms are modest. There is a small refrigerator in the room, however, there is not a microwave available. Patients are encouraged to check in before 6:30 p.m. on the first Sunday before their program.
Patients are encouraged to return home on the weekends. If you are lodging at The Nebraska House, you must check out of your room no later than 1 p.m. on Friday. Luggage and belongings can be kept in The Nebraska House locked storage room on Fridays.
Room accommodation charges, if approved by The Pain Program Staff, are the responsibility of the Pain Management Program.
When you arrive, you may pull into the half circle entryway to the Lied Transplant Center, unload your luggage, take the elevator to the second floor to check in, and then move your vehicle to the patient parking structure. You may want to print the Web Page with the map and directions to take with you for reference.
