Aortic Aneurysms
Symptoms
Most people do not experience symptoms of aortic aneurysms. When symptoms do occur,
pain is most commonly experienced in the chest or back area, shoulders, neck and
abdomen. Pain has been described as moderate to severe or as a tenderness in the
mid or upper chest, back or shoulders.
Aneurysm rupture symptoms include dizziness, fainting, rapid heartbeat or sudden
weakness.
Most aortic aneurysms are found during a routine physical exam while performing
a medical test such as a CT scan, MRI or cardiac catheterization procedure.
