Novalis Shaped Beam Surgery
What is Novalis?
Novalis is a state-of-the-art treatment device for patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery or fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy. Stereotactic radiosurgery is applied in a single session with a high dose of radiation. Fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy is administered in a series of treatment sessions over a specified period of time.
Highly Sophisticated & Precise
Performing procedures to the brain and spinal cord requires highly sophisticated and precise technology. The Nebraska Medical Center recently became the only hospital in the state to acquire the Novalis shaped beam surgery which delivers a carefully shaped and highly precise dose of high-energy radiation to treat tumors in the brain, spinal column and other parts of the body.
Treating the most difficult tumors
Novalis delivers a carefully shaped and highly precise dose of high-energy radiation to treat tumors in traditionally difficult to reach areas such as the brains as well as the pancreas, lungs, liver and prostate.
