We appreciate your interest in being a volunteer at The Nebraska Medical Center. To become a volunteer at the medical center you must successfully complete:
- General orientation class
- A health screen
- Drug screen
- Criminal background check
- Obtain a photo identification badge
- Interview for placement
- Establish a schedule in a service area
- Attend training in service area
An orientation class is the first step required for all new volunteers. This session is required for all new volunteers. Anyone who wishes to become a volunteer must pre-register for a volunteer orientation class. A listing of orientation class dates and times can be found at the "program orientation schedule" link to the left. Contact Volunteer Services at 402.559.4197 to pre-register for a volunteer orientation.
A week prior to the volunteer orientation, an application packet will be sent to you. You will need to complete the paperwork prior to class. During orientation, you will learn how to complete the next steps expected of all volunteer candidates.
PLEASE NOTE:
The volunteer application and orientation process can take four to six weeks to complete.
