Celebrate Your Care
Patients come to Nebraska Medicine with the most serious illnesses and injuries. Expert physicians, nurses and support staff provide the best possible care in the region for complex medical cases.
Many patients celebrate the care they receive at Nebraska Medicine and choose to give back to the hospital at various levels of giving. As the recipient of the second small bowel transplant performed at the medical center in 1994 – an event that saved her life – Jessica Alagna dedicates much of her life to helping others in need of a transplant. Every month the 22-year-old writes a check to the hospital. "This is my way of thanking them and helping others who might need a transplant," said Alagna.
Bill and Dagmar Jurgens want to ensure that no patient’s stay at the hospital is compromised due to a lack of family funds or other basic needs. A cancer survivor himself, Bill and his wife are committed to helping others. Contributing to the Patient Assistance Fund is the Jurgens’ way of saying thank you. This place saved my life. The rest of my life is now about providing payback,” said Jurgens. Celebrate your care today by thanking a caregiver or giving back to Nebraska Medicine.
