13-year-old Joe Sanchez has battled leukemia since 2008. He relapsed three times, and has been bald over half his life. He just had a stem cell transplant and got through it! Joe's favorite things to do are dance and practice his beat boxing skills. With the help of the med center's music therapist, Joe wrote a song about spending most of his young life in the hospital. Lyrics: I just had a transplant Hear me chant for my life I fought 6 years, shed many tears I've got cancer And I have no answer I thank God... He helps me fight tonight I pray for each and every day I'd like to say thanks to the Lord to help me fight this war... At the hospital for life... this cancer's like a burning knife... So I pray to the Lord for those who lost their life... At the hospital for life... So I pray to the Lord for those who lost their life... At the hospital for life... I knew it, I knew it, I got a transplant, got through it. It's like a bullet that flew right through it. I hope I go home, all grown So I know how real life is My dream is to dance and wear cool pants I keep my head high and never say goodbye to life... So I pray to the Lord for those who lost their life... At the hospital for life... So I pray to the Lord for those who lost their life... At the hospital for life... I just had a transplant Hear me chant for my life I fought 6 years, shed many tears I've got cancer And I have no answer I thank God... He helps me fight tonight I pray for each and every day I'd like to say thanks to the Lord to help me fight this war... At the hospital for life... this cancer's like a burning knife... So I pray to the Lord for those who lost their life... At the hospital for LIFE!
