Finding the Finish Line - Faith's Story
When Faith broke her leg one day before a half-marathon, she had two choices: stay and have surgery at a hospital nine hours from home; or come back to Nebraska and look for answers there. She chose to return home and get a second opinion at The Nebraska Medical Center. The first hospital where she went told her she'd need surgery. She expected to hear the same thing in Omaha. But orthopaedic surgeon Matthew Mormino said her broken bones could heal without surgery. Better still, he had a plan for her to heal and train for her next half marathon. Faith worked closely with Dr. Mormino and his team. When race day came, she was ready. Now with the half marathon behind her, she's training for a full marathon. Her leg injury is just a memory.
