Peg has earned her stripes in the war against cancer. A two-time survivor, she now volunteers with several organizations helping current cancer patients. She describes the feelings she had when first diagnosed and shares some tips for what helped her get through her bout with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and brain cancer. Peg's husband and sister were vital to her recovery. She advises people to accept the offers of help and support - even small things like allowing someone to come over and help clean up the house or fix a meal. When she was diagnosed a second time, Peg wasn't sure she wanted to go through with treatment. She decided to do it, but also accepts that it may not be the right choice for everyone. "Death is not the worst thing that can happen," she says. "But I'm not anywhere near ready to do that." Peg is one of several cancer survivors who helps lead the "Look Good Feel Better" program here at the medical center.
