"Roots Above Ground"
Joey Hoffman wrote "Roots Above Ground" as a chronicle of her daughter Daisy's journey from extreme illness, through a multi-organ transplant, and the joy of recovery. Daisy received a liver, pancreas and intestinal transplant at The Nebraska Medical Center in 2006. Daisy's condition meant her family had to move from New York City to Omaha for treatment at the medical center. Joey and Daisy have called Nebraska home ever since.
She and Daisy both are strong advocates for organ donation.
