Losing weight or getting in shape are among the most common New Year's resolutions. Nebraska Medical Center exercise physiologist Kris Volkmer says success is possible as long as you set realistic goals. It's also important to start small. For someone who doesn't exercise regularly, a 15 minute daily walk might be a good starting point. Kris also says it can be helpful to have a workout buddy and to reward yourself for milestones such as 5 or 10 pounds of weight lost.
