pulse rate is a measurement of the heart rate, or the number
of times the heart beats per minute.
check your pulse, using the first and second fingertips,
press lightly over one of the blood vessels on your neck,
just to the left or right of your Adams apple. Or,
check your radial pulse by pressing on the artery inside
your wrist, just below the base of your thumb.
your pulse (heartbeats) for a full 60 seconds, or 30 seconds
and multiply by 2, or 10 seconds and multiply by the number
your pulse from time to time to determine if you are exercising
within your target heart rate zone.
consult your physician if you have questions
about your heart rate, or starting an exercise program.
