Rev. Thomas F. Backer is a certified ACPE Supervisor and manager of the Pastoral Care Department at The Nebraska Medical Center. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University, a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and a Master's degree in Theology from Creighton University.
Tom is an ordained minister with the Baptist General Conference and is a board certified Chaplain with the Association for Professional Chaplains. Tom has experience as a hospital chaplain, hospice chaplain, associate pastor, missionary and a congressional aide. Tom is married and has two children.
Administration
Rev. Deborah Boucher-Payne, Doctor of Ministry, is the Director of Patient Support Services at The Nebraska Medical Center and has administrative oversight of the CPE department.
