Serious Medicine. Extraordinary Care.

Patients Honor The Nebraska Medical Center With Consumer Choice Award for 13th straight year

The Nebraska Medical Center is the only hospital in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area to earn the 2011 Consumer Choice Award for providing the highest quality healthcare. This is the 13th consecutive year that the medical center has received the Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation (NRC), an independent research firm based in Lincoln.

Award winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company's TickerTM study. The survey rankings reflect respondents’ views on hospitals that offer the best quality care, offer the best doctors and nurses and have the best image and reputation.

"To have our community recognize our hospital in this way is a great reflection of the commitment of our doctors and staff to a positive patient experience and our outstanding care," said Glenn A. Fosdick, president and CEO of The Nebraska Medical Center.  "We are in a time when everyone is concerned about the quality and value of healthcare. This award is certainly an achievement and proof of our brand promise – Serious Medicine, Extraordinary Care.";

Winners of the 2011 Consumer Choice Awards are listed in today’s issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.

NRC's Ticker Survey is the nation's largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. No other study used to measure hospital performance and preferences contains more consumer responses than NRC's study. The study has a margin of error of + or - 0.2 percent at a national level.  National Research Corporation (NASDAQ: NRCI) is an industry leader, with more than two decades of experience in healthcare performance measurement and improvement.
